Requirements: Click on the Blue Links to be taken to each website.
- USA Hockey Registration:
- Annual registration.
- You will receive an electronic copy of your registration from USA Hockey. Please submit this number here: Submit USA Hockey Number. This will go to necessary Arapahoe Warriors staff.
- USA Hockey SafeSport Certification:
- A 90-minute video with tests.
- The Safe Sport Training and Refresher Training are each valid for twelve (12) months beginning on 4/1/22
- Safesport is now a yearly requirement and consists of a core course followed by three refresher courses. Every fourth year one must take the core course again.
- USA Hockey Background Screen:
- Registration fee - $30.
- You must submit a new background screening every two years. If you are unsure if you need to complete it, please ask the Registrar.
- Background screening is done through NCSI and takes an average of 10 - 14 business days to be completed.
- You will not be able to be placed on a roster or coach until the screening is complete.
- USA Hockey has already entered your self-registration ID number (35615801) on the first page of the screen. You do not need to change this number.
- USA Hockey Age-Specific Modules:
- These modules will be available in August. One-time requirement per module.
- New modules
- 8&Under
- 12&Under
- 13&Over
- For instance, a coach with an existing 10U module would be eligible to coach at 10U without taking the new module. However, if the same coach now wants to coach 12U they will need to complete the new 12&Under module.
- USA Hockey Coaching Education Program Clinic:
- Coaches may start the season without the CEP requirement or with an expired CEP requirement unless they were redlined or removed from a roster last December due to not meeting the CEP requirement. All coaches must start with Level One (L1). 8U coaches may continue to coach with an expired L1 but must have L1. Coaches on 10U and older rosters must obtain current CEP by 12/31. The expiration date will need to show 2025 or later.
- Levels 1, 2, and 3 are good for one year each. Level 4 is good for 3 years during which time the coach must complete 5 credits of continuing education. Level 5 is good for 4 years and also requires 5 credits of continuing education in order to renew. The next L5 symposium (in person and only offered every two years) will be the 3rd week of August of 2025 in Columbus, OH. https://www.usahockey.com/coachingclinics.
